The short answer
Use AI Writing feedback as a starting point for revision: compare comments with your actual text, choose a specific weakness and rewrite it yourself. An AI band is a practice estimate, not an official IELTS score or a guaranteed test-day result.
Write independently before requesting feedback
Complete the task in your own words and record whether the attempt was timed. If an AI writes the essay first, the feedback evaluates that generated text rather than your independent performance. Keep your original response so you can compare it with later revisions.
IELTSRISE offers Writing practice for Academic and General Training, with AI feedback and a breakdown across writing criteria. Use the comments to identify a next action rather than treating the overall estimate as the only useful output. You can access practice through the student application.
Ask whether the feedback fits the evidence
Read the prompt again, then locate the sentence or paragraph the feedback concerns. A suggestion about development should point to an idea that needs explanation. A grammar correction should preserve your intended meaning. If a comment seems inconsistent with the text, verify it rather than applying it automatically.
Check improvement on a new prompt
After revising, summarise the change in a short rule you can apply again: explain how the example supports the claim, or compare the largest trends before listing details. Complete a fresh task without copying the revised response and check whether the habit transfers.
Automated assessment can miss nuance or offer a suggestion that does not suit the prompt. For persistent disagreement or a high-stakes readiness decision, a qualified teacher's review can add another perspective. IELTSRISE is an independent preparation platform; its feedback does not replace assessment by official IELTS examiners.
Before your next attempt
- The submitted essay is my own independent attempt.
- I checked each important comment against the prompt and text.
- I tested the correction on a fresh task.
